Dr. Del H Meyer MD

          Born in Okarche, Oklahoma – Wikipedia, Del Meyer grew up on the family farms in a family which had emigrated from Northern Germany in the last 1890’s.

          A life-long Lutheran, confirmed member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, he has been a part of Lutheran congregations in positions of responsibility all of his life.   Many of his family have been pastors in the LCMS.

          He went to University of Kansas School of Medicine, and graduated in 1965, moving to California with his young family in 1966.

          Wanting to solve the problem of asthma which he had experienced as a child, he became the pioneer of pulmonary medicine.   As an industry, pulmonary medicine had not yet been established as a Specialty until Dr. Meyer created the Pulmonary Platform into Hospital Groups, Practitioners and Innovation Networks in the late 1960s, establishingPulmonary Medicine Associates, a Partnership in 1967 in Sacramento, California, and Pulmonary Medicine Associates, the Corporation in 1973.

          Through the 1970’s, Dr Meyer pioneered awareness and visibility of the evils of smoking as well as created the gravitational pull into Northern California through PMA of some of the most promising physicians.

          His visionary leadership has contributed greatly to PMA, a leading pulmonary medical practice of which he remains the founder and founding shareholder.

          He continues to build and invest in healthcare, focusing on Longevity, Healthcare Industry Business Models, Medical Ethics, and re-establishing the core relationship between the Patient and the Physician.
